Good Where We’ve Been…..

Good where we’re going to………..

Just got back from beautiful Colorado, visiting sweet family and learning so much in a couple days about myself in a powerful training called HealthRhythms.

HealthRhythms Trainer (and everyone’s mentor) Christine Stevens writes a brief descriptor of this song.  “This is a traditional Plains Indian Song that is a coming and going song. I love to use this to end programs, retreats, and training events.”  We ended our training program singing this song, starting in a circle, and then the circle melded into a chain of people passing by each other with smiles, hugs and tears.  I was moved to tears, both for that moment in time, and for the instant reflection on my life that it brought me to. I look forward to using it myself going forward in my “making music with others” journey.

The song reminded me to let go of past hurts, and instead to give gratitude for even the most painful things…………as they have shaped who I am today……….Where I have been is good, and where I am going to is good too.  So simple, yet so powerfully transformational.

While I am sure I could write about this for a very long post, I do truly believe it will suffice to listen for yourself, and let this beautiful song speak to your heart and soul as it did for me.

As I wrote these last few words, on a rainy peaceful day here in Ohio, the sky suddenly cleared and a sunbeam powered in my window.  Sweet.  I hope to sing, drum and flute this with you one day, either here or there works for me. ❤
