Coffee makers and Mothers

My coffee makers only seem to last a few years.  I know some folks have had one their whole adult life, and I honestly can’t understand it. There must be some tortoise coffee makers out there, but I have never owned one.

My coffee makers are like hamsters.  They are super wonderful, run very efficiently (doing the same thing every day) until one day they go belly up.   When we moved recently, I did discover two of them in the storage shed in a cardboard box, but trust me………they didn’t get buried in the back yard.

Some things last a long time, some things not so much.  Hard to predict sometimes, which makes life very interesting, don’t you agree?

Why am I writing about this?  Search me, it just seemed rather funny the day I thought about how my coffee makers are all hamsters.  And it also seemed weird – “wicked we-ahd” in fact.  And it made me smile.

Rather funny, wicked weird, and capable of bringing a smile to someone’s face is good enough.

Kinda like hamsters.

Here is a song that has nothing in particular to do with hamsters (or mothers)…………but it moved me to tears today and so I am sharing.

I love the line half way in, “The curious promise…………..of limited time.”

Hmmmm……….maybe it has a ton to do with mothers after all.

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone who is a mother, and to all of us who have a mother.  If the mother you have is still here on earth, say howdy this Sunday.  If she isn’t still here, say howdy anyway, give thanks for the time you had, and say you’re sorry if you need to – she will hear you.

I am going for a walk in the woods this Sunday, and I am going to sit on a very special bench and enjoy every little bit of it.

See what I did there?
